If your school has a bike club, we are happy to help support you. Most clubs like to do bike rides, but it is often hard to get some helping hands on those rides. Our Cyclist In Residence team is able to assist with after school clubs if you need curated route creation, group riding education, ride support and even mechanical education assistance. (although for a full bike mechanics program, we recommend our friends Two Wheel View!) Generally this is an extracurricular option class or an afterschool program for youth who are already riding and want to explore on bikes. We can tailor our Bike Club programming for any requirement that you need including way finding, how to secure your bike, rules of the road, how to ride in a group, how to maintain your bike in all seasons, or even as an extra helper on the ride to allow students to leave school grounds. For this type of programming, we would not bring our bike fleet or helmets as most students would bring their own.

Community rides allow students to understand the various types of infrastructure around their school, and can even help them identify the safest route to school year round. Our team can even help with suggestions to make their school easier to allow bikes to become the preferred mode to arrive on with bike lock libraries, school bike rack suggestions, how to interact with the City of Calgary about route suggestions and more. There is no cost to the students or the school for this program, simply look for an available week on our booking calendar, then fill out our school request form.

Bike Club bookings can be for a single day to enable teachers to take their group off school property with our team as support, or can be booked as multi-day opportunities if you would like to cover a variety of items including a community ride. Let us know what works best for you!
